Find a reason to create something beautiful using Schoppel Wolle Zauberball Crazy 4ply. You will not regret it!

I used 100g of this amazing yarn in colourway Herbstonne, a gorgeous gradual (and vibrant) colour change of teal to red to orange. There are SO many beautiful colourways in this range (37?), each as wonderful as the next, that I felt like a kid in a sweet shop just oooh-ing and aaah-ing at them all

I knitted a shawl / small wrap using 1 ball, so it really is a ‘shawl in a ball’ product! The pattern I used is available free to download on Ravelry, and it’s called ‘Close To You’ by Justyna Lorkowska. I used the suggested needle size of 4mm, in a circular as it does knit up quite wide!

The yarn was beautiful to work with. Considering it’s a mix of 75% wool / 25% nylon it had none of the fuzzy, fibery wooliness you get with some other brands. It didn’t split, it was soft and silky and slid from one needle to the other without a single catch. Using a bigger needle size than is usually recommended for 4ply gave it a beautiful drape.

The finished item felt soft and light but when worn was wonderfully warm, not to mention stunning!

I also made up a small square in stocking stitch using 2.5mm needles, to test for sock-worthiness  Again the yarn knitted perfectly, with immaculate stitch definition. The smaller needles made it denser, but it still had that light and airy feeling.

It’s so very hard to put into words how much I enjoyed using Zauberball Crazy, all I can suggest is that you buy some from The Stitchery in Upton and see for yourself! I personally can’t wait for it to be in stock so I can ooooh and aaaah some more. The only difficulty you’ll have will be choosing, so be prepared to stay a while!
